Hey everybody it's Dr. Zach Beatty here with San Diego Auto Injury Center. How many times have you seen the roadways look like piles of people and cars and things going on? Well I know it hasn't been that way lately but as things start to open up more and more we're going to start to see those roadways become more and more backed up. That is going to lead to more and more car accidents and more and more injuries and I hate to say but it's just it's going to happen. It is not a matter of if it's a matter of when. These are all going to occur because for those of us that have been driving to and from work or picking up groceries we've seen the drivers out there lately and it's pretty scary. What we're encouraging a lot of our patients to do is really three different things.
1. The first thing is to stop by and grab a brochure and all it says is ‘what to do if you’re in a car accident’. It's a step-by-step process on how to protect yourself because the last thing you're thinking about is what information do I need.
2. The other thing that we're recommending for a lot of our patients is making sure that you have the proper car insurance because around 60% of people in California are driving with either no insurance or liability only, which means the maximum you can get from somebody is $15,000 out of their auto policies so if they may hit you and you have to take an ambulance ride somewhere fifteen thousand dollars in medical bills doesn't go very far, leaving you in a vulnerable state. If you have medical payments on your car insurance it's very minimal. I believe it's around a hundred one hundred twenty dollars a year to cover yourself anywhere from five to ten to a hundred thousand dollars per person in your car, whether you're at fault or not. I recommend getting medical payments, I'm not an insurance broker, nor do I have nothing to do with insurance but you need to call your insurance brokers to get that. Also uninsured motorists make sure you have a good limit on that because again that will cover you if they have no insurance or liability only, or minimal coverage. This way, you can protect yourself and your family and your loved ones.
If they're ever involved in a car accident, you will be thoroughly happy if you have executed the above recommendations.
If you have any questions let me know if you're not sure about an insurance agent I can give you some names that our patients use.
Please do not be one of the hundreds of patients we see following car accidents or motorcycle accidents being injured with minimal car insurance. Many of them suffer from neck pain, headaches, concussions, whiplash, sciatica, and low back pain. And unfortunately if they do not have proper insurance coverage and neither does the at fault party. That will force the injured party to be financially responsible for their injuries sustained in the rear-end car accident or other accidents.
We are fortunate enough to work with the best San Diego Personal Injury attorneys as well as doctors, MRI facilities, and more to ensure your health is always a priority.
